Theodore Stevens Obituary

Theodore Jay Stevens 53, died Jan 7th at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Mr. Stevens was born in Hutchinson, KS on May 22, 1964. He was the son of Jack and Harriet Stevens. He graduated from Hutchinson High School 1982. He graduated from University of Kansas in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was a member of the Kansas Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

He married Kathleen Ruth Hinkle on April 8th 1989. He is survived by his wife; and two children, Johnathon Miles Hinkle Stevens of Lawrence, KS, a University of Kansas Graduate and employed by Bankers Life Insurance, Wyatt DeWein Hinkle Stevens a student at The University of Mississippi, brother, Joe Stevens, sister-in-law, Cindy McCoy of Lawrence, brother-in-law, Matt McCoy of Lawrence, and niece, Alessandra Kathleen McCoy of Fort Collins, Colorado

He worked for Kohler Plumbing Co. and Schlage Lock Company. He later started Stevens Inc. and enjoyed that till his death. He was a private pilot like his Dad, he loved to fly. He loved all things KU.

He was a loving husband and loving father who will be missed by his family and friends deeply.

Funeral services for Theodore will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will greet friends at 1 p.m. one hour prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Alzheimer's Association or Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
