Terry Waggoner Obituary

Terry D. Waggoner left this earth to meet his lord and savior on November 15, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at his home.

Terry was born on October 10, 1959. He was nearly a life-long resident of Lawrence Kansas where he attended Lawrence public schools and was a 1977 graduate of Lawrence High School. He often spoke of the many good times he had playing in the LHS Marching Band.

He also attended Emporia State University and The University of Kansas.

Terry was a model employee for Westar Energy for 39 years. He held many positions with the company including most recently in management until his retirement.

Terry enjoyed music and playing his guitars as well as watching spectator sports where he was an avid fan of the Jayhawks, Royals & Chiefs.

Terry loved the water and could often be found at the lake with family and friends on his boat named "Jus Deck'n Around."

He married Jacqueline (Jackie) Mileski on June 9, 1979. They had one son Christopher William Waggoner who survives.

Terry is also survived by one sister Judy Holland and her husband Jerry of Springfield MO. He is also survived by many relatives in Kansas, North Carolina, and Washington State.

He was preceded in death by his father William (Billy) Waggoner and his mother Imogene Waggoner both long time Lawrence residents.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 8, 2018 at Lawrence Heights Christian Church, 2321 Peterson Road. A Celebration for Life will follow the service (1:00-4:00) at the Slowride Roadhouse, 1350 N. 3rd Street.
