Robert Howard Obituary

Robert "Bob" Charles Howard born on August 10th 1940 in Holton, KS passed away on February 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a lifetime of memories built on hard work, laughter, and time spent doing the things he loved most. We would like to thank all the kind doctors and nurses involved in his care.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viola Howard, and his brother, Dean (Wonda) Howard.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Louise Howard, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage, travel, and adventure. He is also survived by his sons, Gary (Lisa) Howard and Bruce (Debi) Howard; his grandchildren, Elisha (John), Allison (Kelsey), Cody (Ashley), and Monica (Bryan); and his great-grandchildren, Riley, Reece, Cal, and Jack, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Bob retired from FMC after 32 years of dedicated service. Even in retirement, he stayed busy doing what he did best- working with his hands. He spent many years repairing and maintaining golf carts for local golf courses and was known for his natural talent for tinkering and his ability to fix just about anything.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, working on engines and cars, and spending time outdoors. Bob and Louise especially cherished traveling together and seeing new sights. He loved early mornings sharing coffee and conversation with his friends at McDonald's and looked forward to fishing trips to Minnesota with friends.

Bob was happiest in his garage, on the golf course, or surrounded by family and friends. He will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, quick wit, and the countless ways he quietly showed his love through the things he built, fixed, and shared.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be at the First United Methodist Church - Lawrence, 946 Vermont St, Lawrence, KS 66044, February 21st at 10:00.
