Robert Givens Obituary

Robert Wayne Givens 84 of Lawrence, Ks passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Johns Hospital in Leavenworth, Ks.

Robert was the son of Elmer & Georgia Givens. He was a proud family man who put his family first.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.

He worked for Dillon's for 44 years and Hy-vee for 15 years. He loved to go out in the country and cut fire wood for his fireplace. He enjoyed family gatherings and the holidays. He loved watching the birds in his backyard that would go to his bird feeders. He also loved to play the penny slots at the casinos in the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Georgia Givens; brothers, Eugene, Donald (Larry) and Gary Givens.

He married his wife Jean in June of 1959 at Partridge, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Lawrence; five children, Rhonda Felix of Olathe and Larry; Julie Pruitt and Curt of Desoto, Ks; Wayne and Charles Bradford of Lawrence, Ks; Kyle Givens and Leslie of Salina Ks; Amy and Jesse Blevins of Baldwin, Ks: 14 Grandchildren; and sister, Zelma Solomon.

The family is planning a private service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.

Memorial Contributions may be made and sent to First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway, Lawrence, Ks. 66047 in Robert's name or sent in the care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th Street Lawrence, Ks 66044.
