Ray Romig Obituary

Ray Dee Romig passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 76. As per his wishes there will be no service. He will be cremated. You may honor Ray by making a contribution in his name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Lawrence Humane Society, Lawrence, Kansas. Ray was born October 20, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Carlyle and Neva Fern Romig. He graduated from Haven High School, Haven, Kansas in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in 2001. Ray enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlyle and Neva Fern Romig and his brother Bill Romig (Karen).

He is survived by his wife Merrill; his four children Amy Graber (Jay), Carrie Henderson (John), Jim Romig (Fawn), and Joe Romig (Michelle); one step-son John Petersen; seven grandchildren, Thomas Benz (Ada), Isaac Romig (Allison), Caleb Romig (Cass), Nick Romig (Kim), Zach Romig, Jenna Graber, Allison Graber and a soon to be born great granddaughter Katherine Jane; his sister Kay Smyth, sister-in-law Karen (Bill); several nieces and nephews; and dogs Peanut and Lucy.
