Quinton Frentrop Obituary

Quinton "Q" Bleu Frentrop, 14, born and raised in Lawrence. Q passed away at home in his parents arms on the morning of Sunday, March 6th.

Q attended Sunflower Elementary, SouthWest MS, Lawrence Virtual School, and LHS. He spent many summers in the South Park Summer Camp.

Q was an active and social child. His big smile lit up his whole face. He had a big heart, standing up for himself and others. He made friends easily -- he was witty and conversation flowed so comfortably for him. He loved playing all types of sports and was gifted athletically. He played soccer with Sporting Kaw Valley, wrestled with Sunflower Kids Wrestling and for SouthWest, and practiced jiu jitsu with Rivers BJJ. He also loved playing video games and board games with family and friends.

At the age of 12 he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. He bravely faced the diagnosis, the treatments, and the terrible side effects maturely, often offering comfort and kindness to his worried family and friends as well as other kids battling their own fights.

He will be missed by his parents, Tony and Lindsay, his two big brothers, Deaken and Remy, as well as grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and lots and lots of friends.

A memorial service will take place in the coming weeks. Family will share details as plans are made.
