Patricia Ann Wendt

Patricia Ann Howard Wendt was born on November 25, 1931 and left this earth on May 2, 2013 at the age of 77 years. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Tue., May 7, at the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation from 11 to 12 Noon on Tue., May 7, prior to the service at the funeral home. Pat was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the fifth of six children born to Dewey and Rebecca Howard. She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Pruitt and brother Dewey Howard, Jr. Surviving her are sisters Helen Miller, Joyce (Bob) Gillum, and Norma (Dr. Robert) Laing. Pat grew up in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Pat married her one true love, William Otto Wendt, in 1952. Pat and Bill were married 46 years before he passed away. Together they had six children who survive her: David (Denise), Daniel (Debbie), Joseph (Sherri), Paul (Lezlie), James (Chari), and Rebecca Sharp. Pat is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pat worked at Puritan Bennett Medical Gases for 30 years, and she attended Barry Christian Church. As she was raising her children, Pat served as a room mother, PTA member, CYF sponsor, and Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed watching her children participate in sports, a pastime that continued on with her grandchildren. During her recent illness she remained at home with the care of her children and grandchildren, surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing.
