Norma Jarrett Obituary

Funeral services will be held for Norma Evelyn Jarrett, 89, Lawrence, at 11 am on Friday, September 23, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Lawrence, with the Rev. Matt Sturtevant officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Norma was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Bessie, OK, the oldest child in the family of Leonard and Miriam Witzke. She was a Registered Nurse, working in SW Kansas in the OB-GYN field, and was nominated by her peers and listed in "Who's Who in American Nursing" in 1991. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother.

Norma married Jerry Jarrett in 1952 in Liberal, KS. They were married for 63 years, and she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and brother Ben Witzke. She is survived by her sister, Lavona Gaylord; brothers Don (Kay) and Leo (Pat) Witzke; children Jan (Bill), Mike (Kim), and Dale; grandchildren Timothy (Amber) and Katie (Tim), and her great granddaughter, Caroline, and two step-grandsons, Dashiell (Brianna) and Spencer.
