Nancy Demko Obituary

Nancy Edith Demko, 76, of Wilkes-Barre Township, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Her husband of 53 years is Louis Demko Jr., Wilkes-Barre Township. Born July 11, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Lottie Woidzik Ihnat. Nancy was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, class of 1952. She was an electronics technician retiring from RCA, Mountain Top. She was also a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Louis, are three children, Louis David, Kathy, and Susan Demko-Jasterzenski and husband James; three grandchildren, Leah, James, and Mercedes Jasterzenski; and sister, Marie Napolsky. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, 136 Maffett St., Plains Township, with a Divine Liturgy and Requiem Services at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Orest Kunderevych, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains Township. Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Parastas Service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 635 N.
