Mary Allen-Hough Obituary

Allen-Hough, Mary Louise - 57 of Maryville, Tennessee died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born September 20, 1954, in Clemson, South Carolina, to parents Rev. M. C. Allen and Eleanor Burt Allen, she grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, and graduated from Lawrence High School in l972. She attended the University of Kansas and later graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's of Music in Violin. She was member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for 25 years, was the concertmaster of the Maryville Symphony and taught Suzuki Violin. She also worked for State of Tennessee, Dept. of Human Services/ Quality Control.
Louise was passionate about her pets and was a life-long animal lover. She married Don Hough in l986 in Maryville. In addition to her husband she is also survived by her mother, Eleanor B. Allen, of Lawrence; sister, Marian Allen, Orland, Maine; brothers Burt and wife Christine, Nachitoches, La., Robert and wife Teresa of Lawrence, Kansas; sons Layr, Grady, Don, and daughter Kim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held Saturday, April 7, 2:00 p.m., in the Great Hall of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 314 West Broadway, Maryville, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to join in this celebration. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, P.O. Box 51723, Knoxville, TN 37950. Don and I are saddened to hear about Louise. I have very fond memories of her in the KSO back when Zoltan was conducting. We always had a good time in the violin section when Louise was playing. She and Norris would always have the rest of us laughing. Her hearty laugh was infectious.
