Mamie Crabb Obituary

Mamie Ruth Crabb, 86, passed away March 4, 2018. She was always cheerful and pleasant and kept her sense of humor until the end.

Mamie was born February 20, 1932 to Hermie (Mann) and Hank Stukey in Pierceville, KS. She married Dave Crabb on October 15, 1950 after high school graduation and the couple celebrated over 60 years together. Mamie and Dave owned Crabb Electric in Garden City, KS and worked side by side. Mamie was an active member of Church of the Brethren in Garden City, and enjoyed bowling and traveling. Dave had a stroke in 2004 and the couple moved to Lawrence, KS where Mamie volunteered at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community where Dave lived. After his passing, Mamie moved to Urbandale, IA to be closer to her family.

She will be greatly missed by children, Paul (Linda) Crabb of Urbandale, IA, Arlen (Patricia) Crabb of Aberdeen, MD, Annette (Larry) Cody of Steamboat Springs, CO and Mary Jo (Mike) Bevz of Las Cruces, NM; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James D. "Dave" Crabb; and her sisters, Norma Jean Worf and Wanda B. Bertholf.

No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to HCI Kavanagh House. Condolences can be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
