Mason Thomas and Kami Legits are honored to be the parents of Maddex Ace Thomas. He was born on March 5, 2022 at 8 lbs.1oz. and was diagnosed with a rare cancer. Mason and Kami are grateful for all the many tender mercies that God granted them so they could tell you about their son.
As a family they decided to cherish every moment together, so family time started every day with his favorite music (usually the Beatles) and watching dad dance for him. They would sit on the porch, go for walks, and occasionally watch dad play frisbee golf, all while soaking up the sun.
Maddex loved cuddles and being close; therefore, the bassinet was short lived and he became a permanent fixture in mom and dad's bed or on mom's lap. You would often catch him peeking out of his sleep to make sure his mommy was holding his hand.
Maddex was an old, sweet spirit. You felt as though his eyes could look into your soul. He had the ability to capture the heart of everyone God sent to help him on his journey. Maddex seemed to inspire and empower others with his strength. He also had a quiet calm about him that was contagious.
As Maddex's health declined, he endured it with grace. It seemed as though he was memorizing every moment of life and every morsel of love. We're confident that he asked Jesus for a few more moments, because he stayed longer than anyone had ever imagined.
He is survived by his mother, Kami Legits and his father Mason Thomas. Grandparents Walt/Ellie Legits and Anthony Thomas. Great Grandmother Mary Hall. Aunts and Uncles Ashley/Daynon Gardner, Ethan/Tia Legits, Lissy/Bryson Rasmussen and Jessica Thomas. He has 7 Cousins. Preceded in death by grandma Caroline Thomas.
The service will be at 11:30p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary located at 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, CO The livestream link is found on the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary website.
