M. Jane Ritter 1934 - 2021
Springfield, IL—M. Jane Ritter 87, of Springfield, died peacefully at 7:25 pm, Monday, August 23, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born January 15, 1934 in Owen County, KY to Gran Kelsey and Alice Mildred Thomas. She married Robert Eugene Ritter on December 18, 1954 and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer (John P.) Yacup of Villa Rica, GA; one son, Thomas (Chris) Ritter of Springfield; seven grandchildren, John R (Sara) Yacup, Jeffrey Yacup, James Yacup, Robert E. Ritter, Emma June Schuster, Elias Schuster and Ethan Schuster and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jane Ann Schuster and two sisters, Annette Kemper and Louise Stafford.
Jane was a homemaker and prior to that had worked in the clerical field.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 9 – 10:45 am, Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Busboom and Pastor Pam Mitcham officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
