For 10 years, in the late 80's and early 90's, she and Clarence were Winter Texans. They traveled many states in their travel trailer, originally with their daughter, Cheryl as she was growing up and later just the two of them. They laughed a lot and had so much fun together and made many friends along the way. In 2007 she and Clarence left their farm in McLouth and moved to an apartment at their daughter's house in Lawrence.
On June 1, 2010, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a party at the Smith Center which was filled with stories, laughter and many good friends.
