Julia Johnson Obituary
Julia Johnson, 83, of Tonganoxie, passed away Mon., March 30th at home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 3rd at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or the 1st Congregational Church of Tonganoxie.
Julia was born August 19, 1931 in Alpine, TX to Julius and Catherine Mestagh. She graduated from Turner High School. Julia married Samuel Johnson in May of 1950 and they spent 63 years together, before his passing in 2013. She was a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Tonganoxie as well as the Ladies Plymouth Guild. She loved being outdoors and had a vegetable and flower garden. Julia will be deeply missed by all who knew her bright and kind spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Samuel, her sister, Molly Beach, and her son, James "Jimmy" Johnson.
Julia leaves behind her children, Teresa Beach (Jerry), and George Johnson (Gayle); her six grandchildren; her fifteen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; her siblings, Charles and George Mestagh and many other relatives and friends.

Aunt Judy was one of the nicest and most friendly persons I have ever known. She always made you feel welcome. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with her. In particular, I was fortunate to receive several family history lessons from her and am grateful that she took the time to pass that information on to me. I know that she will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the pleasure to know her.
