Jon Isaacs Obituary
Funeral services for Jon Thomas 'J.T.' Isaacs, 68, rural Lawrence, will be at 1 pm Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Isaacs died Thursday, Apr. 10, 2014, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Lawrence, the son of Fred R. and Mary Breakey Isaacs. J.T. graduated from Lawrence High School, and later became co-owner and operations manager at Schendel Pest Control for over 40 years. He was a member of Breakfast Optimist, and was known as a 'master of all trades' who would help anyone. He enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Colorado.
He married Veronica 'Vicki' Mages on June 9, 1965, in Missouri. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, John F. Isaacs, and Neal L Isaacs and wife Melissa, all of Lawrence; a sister, Mary Ann Saunders, Lawrence; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter of Ottawa, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044. Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com.

I am so sorry to hear of J.T.'s passing. I so wish that I had not lost touch with you these past few years. He was the best boss I ever had, and always thought of you and him when driving past the old Schendel Buildings. The one on Minnesota, and also on Iowa St. My thoughts and prayers are with you, John and Neal.

Vicki, so sad to hear about JT. He had such a great influence on so many people in the industry. I remember working with him on big jobs in my early days being so impresssed with the fact that one of the owners was out working long holiday weekends. He will truly be missed.

I am saddened to hear of your loss. I loved working with JT during my time at Schendel. I knew that I could always count on him for anything whether it was wise counsel about work or personal issues. He was always there for me. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

We shared a lot of good times over the years, from raising our children together and all the great times we had in Colorado at the cabin and jeeping. Jon will be greatly missed.

To the family of J.T. What a great pleasure it was to know and hang around with JT.
