Joan Draper Obituary

Joan Elizabeth (Weir) Draper born in Indianapolis on June 16, 1938, died on June 7, 2022 in Denver Colorado. She was surrounded by her two boys, Doug Draper and Andy Draper and their families. Mom died of liver cancer one week short of her 84th birthday. She had 4 granddaughters and a grandson.

Joan loved Lawrence and her boys were born there. She was a huge fan of Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she worked and the Jayhawks! Her life epitomized the Kansas motto: Ad Astra per Aspera.

She loved the fall leaves of KU and a small celebration of life with her family will occur this fall in Lawrence. God bless you Mom!

Condolences to Andy and all the family members.
May all your good memories of Mom and Grandmom provide you peace and grateful appreciation of her and the life she lived. I was only privileged to interact with her at LMH on a few occasions but from those I could tell she was an exceptional person.

Dear Andy and Family, Sorry to hear about the loss of Joan. I enjoyed working with her at LMH and listening to her talk about her beloved Jayhawks. My thoughts are with you all. Sincerely, Sheryle
