Janice Stewart Obituary
She was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Alma, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry Grover and Jesse Belle Vanover Heft. She graduated from Alma High School. Janice was a homemaker, and was a hard worker who always had a wonderful garden. She also enjoyed animals and time spent with family. Janice was an active member of Countryside Methodist Church and its women's groups.
She married James Lowell Stewart in 1955. He preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Richard, Dale, Vivian, and Harry. She is survived by four children, Elizabeth Guilfoyle and husband Patrick, Tyler Stewart and wife Terri, and Lowell Stewart and wife Deborah, all of Lawrence, and Victoria Wallace and husband Steve, Jupiter, Fla.; eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

I'm sorry to hear of your Mother. She was a genuine sweetheart whose hospitality I will always remember. Memories of my childhood at gatherings with you, your Mother and our Fathers are some of the very best. I remember her always gardening, and the hearty meals she arranged, stories of Nebraska...

Lowell, Liz, Victoria and Tyler,
I have been sad all week to hear the news and wanted to let each of you know I have been thinking about you. I am sorry I could not make the trip...your family has been a part of my life for over 30 years and i hope for many more.
