Brother your passing has not gotten easier with time only more difficult. For your family doesn´t know why you were taken so abruptly. I pray that we will all be reunited someday. I love you.

Wow! I had a dream last night about Jimmy and John and wanted to find out where you boys were and sadly I´m shocked to find you in Heaven Jimmy... Today, even after not seeing you for what 50 years?!?...Jimmy was my boyfriend for a short time at Deerfield in 6th grade. God he was so cute and sweet. So protective and such a really special and lovable guy. We rode on some moped together and took our hands off and closed our eyes and wrecked it laughing all the way. Got scratched up but not hurt. Loved his little raspy voice. Obviously he made an impact wherever he went, a little swagger, a joke, a big smile and a laugh. So smart.
Better late than never Grey´s...I´m very sorry for the great loss of your brother. I very well know how that feels. I lost my brother Paul, David´s childhood friend in 1999. I wish you all the best and that Jimmy is resting not too peacefully so he can be a little rascal Angel up there watching over all of you and your grandchildren.
With Love
Laura

John and I are heartbroken to have lost Jimmy .
I am so glad that we had time with him at our wedding in October 2018 . Jimmy was such a sweetheart and endeared himself to my family who had travelled from Australia. I loved his sweet smile and fun spirit and the letters, written so eloquently, he sent to us over the years.
I know he is in heaven putting smiles on all the angels faces and keeping his mom and dad company

Jimmy was a gentle soul that will be greatly missed. Although I didn’t see Jimmy often, I always felt connected to him through our love of nature and being outdoors.
Rest In Peace, Uncle Jim.

I met Jim at Riverside Grade School back in the 60's. He was a card all the way through our school years together. I lost touch with him when he left Lawrence before our graduation year. His sister Susan told me he went NW to become a lumberjack. At first I laughed...but I knew he was a determined rascal and loved the outdoors.
I caught up with him on one of his trips back to Lawrence...and he did indeed tell me that he had become a lumberjack. Jim said he loved it because he could see nature's beauty all around and make good money. He wasn't coming home. When we parted , I was a little jealous of his boldness and frontiersmanship. I knew he found his calling.
To the Grey family....My thoughts and prayers are with you. His ability to make us laugh will never be forgotten.
To God...I say, you have allowed a good man into your gates....let him steward your forests. Take care of him and all of his family.

Jim was very funny and outspoken and often befuddled his teachers, but you could tell he was a great guy who was going to live a good life. I still think about him from time to time even after all these years for he made a real impression on people.
My best to brother John and the rest of the family.

To all that knew and loved Jimmy I am sorry for your loss. I met him at The Rail and we were friends from then on. He was a kindred spirit and his spirit will live on in me and those he touched with his love. I really can't explain how he touched my heart. He was just mine and so many people's little buddy. I am so grateful for seeing him on his last visit here. I will forever keep you in my thoughts Jimmy until we meet again.
Love,
PeeWee

I knew Jim from Jr. High and High School. My best memories are from Boy Scouts wear Jim taught me more about camping and living off the land than the Scoutmaster. Foraging for edibles like watercress and drinking water from the same spring. Jim was one of those lucky ones he knew what he wanted to do at 15 and he went for it. He wasn't a big guy but he didn't take crap from nobody. In life sometimes you meet someone even for a short time who has an impact on your life. Jim was one of those. So when you see natural beauty in nature Jim is there. My sympathy goes out to the family. Tracy Dethloff
