James DICKIE Obituary

DICKIE, James Douglas (Jim)
May 14, 1939 - June 7, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad Jim.

Jim lived most of his life in North Vancouver before moving to Agassiz a year and a half ago. His career in the golf course industry allowed him to make many lifelong friends. He kept in touch with a lot of his North Vancouver High schoolmates and enjoyed the many class of '58 reunions. When not socializing, he could be found in his garden. Jim was a good neighbour, always willing to help out in any way. He was quite the character, charming when charm was required, made jokes when a good laugh was needed and quite the tease as well.

Jim is survived by his loving family; daughters Gina (Doug), Sandra; son Sean; grandchildren Greg (Kate), Bryan, Brittany (Mark), Jaymi (Stephen); great-grandchildren Nelson, Mitchell, Payton, Hudson and Palmer.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at Seymour Golf and Country Club, 3733 Mount Seymour Parkway, North Vancouver. Please come and share your memories of Jim with us.

I am sad to read about this as I remember Jim as a salesman for the Toro dealership in Surrey. He would visit the workshop up at Capilano Golf&CC selling his wares and deliver the equipment the club would purchase. Always a smile on his and good to talk to. I have meant to drop in and see him at his home in North Van at his invitation and did once but should have done it more often RIP Jim. Many must miss you.

To: Jim's family
Please accept my deepest condolences. Jim was my friend for almost 40 years as we worked together at Acklands/TPC and Oakcreek. I will miss his humor and easy going nature. He would always brighten my day when I would receive his phone calls. He loved his family dearly and would share stories with proudness. I will miss you my friend . I'm very sorry to have missed the celebration of his life. I will always remember the wonderful times we spent together.

I remember Jim from many years ago at TPC (and you too, Gina). He was always ready with a humorous story and was a significant part of the team of salesman for many years. I pray you can always hold him dear in your hearts and find comfort in the memories of your Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa.

Jim was so full of life and laughter and always seemed to have a ready joke and an easy smile. I remember as a teen being mercilessly teased by him, but it was, of course, all in good fun. Jim had more energy in his 80s than most in their 50s and 60s! He will be very missed. Rest in peace Jim.
