Howard Fields Obituary

CANEADEA - Howard W. Fields, 83, of 7803 Crawford Creek Road, Caneadea, passed away Wednesday (May 9, 2018) at Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit, after an illness.

Born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Angelica, he was a son of Daniel Smith Paul and Harriet Ethel Histed Fields. On March 29, 1958, in the Cuba First Baptist Church, he married the former Delores J. Cooper, who survives.

Howard was a graduate of Belfast Central School, Class of 1952.

He had been employed as a truck driver, for Allegany County Department of Public Works, prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering in his shed.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Danny) King of Zephyrhills, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Washburn of Caneadea; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Fields on Feb. 4, 2013; a daughter, Debra Mahon on Feb. 28, 2017; two brothers, Harold Fields and Paul Fields; and a sister, Harriet Ethel Briggs.

In accordance with Howard's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
