Gerald Vince Obituary

GERALD EUGENE VINCE
Beloved Father and Stepfather, Jerry Vince, passed away peacefully Aug. 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was fondly known as "Pops".
Pops was an avid fisherman and Royals fan. He enjoyed playing cards and continued playing until the very end. Jerry has now joined "The Love of His Life" Nancy (Dalton-Bernard) Vince, who passed away in March of 2012.
Jerry and Nancy were married in June 1986 in Kansas City. They spent almost 26 years together for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, "till death did they part". Their life's journey together included the death of parents and a stepson/ son, and promotions and relocations from KC to Dallas to DC and back home to KC. They both loved creating their Koi ponds and tending to the fish and plants. Feeding, cleaning, and training their various pet birds was a daily joy for them. You knew you were in their home when you heard the birds squawking "Jerry" or "Nancy". Jerry and Nancy had been lovingly cared for by their family Katie, Philip and Ann Ozorkiewicz.
Jerry is survived by his three children Jeffrey, Mitchell and Bradley, three stepchildren, Ann Ozorkiewicz, Kevin, Brian, Philip and Katie, Craig Bernard and Susan Koenig, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. We all love you "Pops".
Please keep a watchful eye over us all until we meet again.
The Family will hold a private service.

He hired me as a National Expert Field Investigator and told me to go out and "fight crime" and then, in his Jerry Vince manner... told me get out of his office. He is truly one the Agency's Champions and a person I continue to respect. God Bless your Sir.

I am so sorry to read about Jerry's passing. Years ago Jerry and all three young sons use to go fishing at our farm pond many weekends in South Kansas City. He was so good about teaching the boys how to fish and he made sure they left the pond just like they found it. They always tossed the fish back in to get a second chance at growing bigger. He was a very nice man and will be missed.
