ANNISTON, AL — Gail Ann Hitchcock Bullington died Friday, November 2, 2012 in her 77th year of her life.
Born January 12, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan, she was the oldest child of Fred C. Hitchcock Sr. and Doris L. Hitchcock of Greensboro, NC. Gail has one surviving brother, Fred C. Hitchcock Jr., of Aberdeen, NC and one deceased brother, Jack Hitchcock. Gail married Matthew J. Crawley, Jr. on June 12, 1954 and they had four daughters, Carol C. Maulstby of NC., Cheryl P. Moody of AL., Cindy W. Scott of Va., Claire H. Crawley of NY., and one deceased son, Matthew C. Crawley, Jr. Gail is survived by four grandsons and four ganddaughers. Gail was raised in North Carolina, and lived most of her life in the Danville, VA/Greensboro, NC area. Gail attended Stratford College for two years where she met and then eventually married Matt Crawley Jr. They were married for almost 22 years, and raised four daughters from 1955 to 1980. Gail worked at Danville Memorial Hospital from 1978 to 1981. She then moved to the Greensboro, NC area where she met her second husband, Horace Bullington Jr. Horace predeceased Gail by eleven years. In December, 2011 Gail moved to Anniston, Al to live near one of her daughters.
Gail was a loving and curious person who enjoyed being with people. Recollections by family and friends include her warmth, friendship, sense of humor and natural beauty.
Gail will be cremated and there will be celebration of life in Greensboro, NC at a later date.

Gail and I had MANY good times together. I have missed her - - I called Mallard Ridge several times and couldn't get any info from them. You girls have been so good to her. I loved her and will continue to miss one of my very best friends. Margery Sienkiewicz

My Mom was the most incredible Mom. She was so funny. Mom was so beautiful inside and out. If she could see me now she would say " get your hair colored NOW" Everyone who knew her understands that! she was a hoot. We shared so many good times. I miss her terribly. Mom I love you
