Frank Kitchens

Albert Franklin Kitchens, Jr., age 89, of Tonganoxie, Kansas passed away on Tuesday Sept. 17, 2013 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday Sept. 28th at the Bonner Springs Church of Christ (401 E. Morse, Bonner Springs, KS). In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs Church of Christ Mission Fund in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Frank was born on Sept. 6, 1924 in Springer, AZ. The last of six children born to Albert F. (Sr.) and Myrtle L. Kitchens. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He met his wife Juanita E. Williams in New Mexico when they were children and were married in San Diego, CA., on Oct. 25, 1945. Frank was a Church of Christ Preacher for 50 years, a teacher and worked with the U.S. Government as an U.S. Air Force Civilian Logistics Officer and as an Instructor at Haskell Indian College. He and his wife and family lived in California, New Mexico, Oregon, Kansas and Missouri. Frank and his wife also spent several years in Zambia, Africa for Mission Work. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, and his wife. Survivors include five children Stephen Kitchens of Kansas City, KS., Kathi Haynes (Steve) of Lenexa, KS., Phil Kitchens (Christine) of Clearwater, FL., Randy Kitchens (Whitney) of Kansas City, MO., Jennifer Greisen (Troy) of Grapevine, TX., nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
