Fei McClure Obituary

Funeral services for Fei Fei Lee McClure, 73, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Before moving to the United States, Fei Fei Lee McClure was previously known as Yen-Chi Wang Lee (Elice Lee), a native of Tainan Hsein, Taiwan Province, Republic of China.

She was born on December 1, 1949.

Fei Fei was a Practitioner of Chinese and Alternative/Holistic Medicine. She had a unique personality and had many fun quirks. Fiercely independent, private and a little mysterious, Fei Fei was an unfailing kind and generous person who especially loved children. Clients were like family to her. She had great empathy for those she worked with, and always did her very best to help them. Even if at times, at a detriment to herself.

Fei Fei loved music of all genres, especially classical piano and violin. She particularly enjoyed live concerts because of the musical nuance and being able to see the performers in person. Her lifelong love of flowers…she was the definition of a "green thumb". Finding and reviving discarded plants, giving them not only a second chance to live, but thrive. In the wake of her impending passing and after, it seemed that flowers and nature itself were speaking to her.

Despite the injuries, ailments and subsequent surgeries endured over the decades, she loved and cared for so many. Fei Fei gave selflessly of her time and used her hands, mind and spirit to heal, love and give strength to anyone needing support or feeling forgotten. There are some who have been touched by her, who might even say her acts were miraculous.

Fei Fei peacefully transitioned from our world to the next, early in the morning on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved little brother, Marc.

Fei Fei leaves behind: son, Rensselaer McClure; daughter, Nadya Record; her beloved Grandson, Ridge Record and son-in-law, Andrew Record; very best friend, Albert Brune.

The family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials in Fei Fei's name to Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
