Esther Sparks Obituary
She died April 16, 2024, at LMH Health.
Esther was born October 13, 1957, in Winchester, Kansas, the daughter of James Ray and Cynthia Sparks Ray Simpson.
She worked as a CNA/CMA for several of the local Nursing facilities after earning her license at the young age of 18 years. Later she worked as a Customer Service Representative for Entertel, Market USA and Sprint. She finished her working career working for Medicare.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Cynthia, stepfather Sam Simpson, brother Tim Sparks, brother in laws Larry Hughes and Art Munger, two sisters Nancy Bosze and Esther Reese, lastly her best bud Lee McKelvey.
Survivors include her sisters Bonnie Hughes, Della Osburn (Bobby), Rosemary Munger (Phillip Brown), Martha Larue (Glen), Margaret Herzog, Nancy Coen (Tom), brother Charlie Simpson, favorite aunt Jeanette Sparks, cousin/best friend and caregiver Sue McKelvey and Mama Weeze (aka Louise Farmer) and numerous nieces, nephews, both regular great and great great alike.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260 Lawrence, Kansas 66044.

I'll miss Esther, I met Esther at the young age of 15 as a CNA. We worked many long hours together side by side as she taught me the ropes of being a great caregiver and inspired me later to also become a CMA. I'm grateful for the opportunity to give Esther care a few times as my work schedule dictated. I'll miss her great sense of humor and her being an Avon lady in those early years. More than these, I'll miss her wisdom and advice as she tried to guide me in my young years even when I didn't listen all the time. I Love You Esther. I wish I would have had more time with you over the years. Life has a way of getting away from us so quickly. I sure hope you know I cared. God Bless You now as you are now welcomed into his arms and kingdom! Prayers for the Family as they journey thru this great loss. May you find strength knowing that God is in control and the Sun will continue to shine with Esther at its helm. Respectfully Myracle
