Don was such a very special person in my life, my children's lives and my husband. Maria and Don have been very close friends for over 50 years. When my husband and I got married they bought my house and were less than a mile from us. We had many bbq's, dinners, crab feasts and parties together. They helped raise my four kids! We were very sad when they moved back to Lawrence, but with planes & cars we all visited often. Don was a great lover of a good deal with food. It was not uncommon that he would come home with a bushel of avocados or any number of good deals. He favored Trader Joe's '2 Buck Chuck' and had a laundry room full of it! I visited for a week and we drank some every night and my fingers swelled up so bad Maria had to wind string around my finger so tight, we thought we would have to cut it off. Don and Maria were here numerous times when my husband was sick. Donald gave the most heartfelt, loving, funny eulogy that my children and I remember today.
I could write a book about our many adventures with Don & Maria, so many laughs and beautiful stories. One of the special things, Donald was my birthday buddy, 8/24, and no matter where or what we always connected on that day to wish each other Happy Birthday! We all will miss you special friend. All our love, Steph, Meredith, Eric, Brad and Josh
