Deborah Elser Obituary

Deborah Jean Elser, was born August 3, 1954 to Betty Mulliken.

She married Albert "Skip" Elser on December 4, 1971

Debbie and Skip spend their marred life in Oklahoma and Kansas, including 33 years in Wakefield, Kansas where Skip taught Social Studies. During their 54 years of marriage Debbie worked various jobs including: Office Manager for T&J Sheet Metal and in Admissions and Records at Geary Community Hospital.

After a long decade with Alzheimers, Debbie passed away at Bridge Haven Memory Care on September 9, 2025. She was helped in her passing by Ascend Hospice. She had Skip and her son, Austin at her side when she passed quietly that evening. Debbie is survived by her husband Skip, her golden retriever, Gracie, her oldest son; Andrew (Heidi) Elser and their son: Jackson, Daughter Abby (Adrian) Bartel and their children: Linus and Edison, and their youngest son; Austin (Kate) Elser and their children: Attia, Axel, and Gus.

Debbie was a wonderful wife, mother, and had a flare for decorating. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, and spent many hours on the back of a tandem bicycle riding around south Lawrence with her husband.

A Memorial Service for Debbie will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, October the 11, at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home, 203 N Washington St. Junction City, Kansas 66441.

In lieu of flowers, Skip and Debbie would appreciate any donation to Kansas Public Radio; 1120 W 11th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
