David was such a wonderful therapist and healer. His compassion was without match. And his ability to discern his patients needs and direct them on a path towards becoming themselves only stronger and more resilient was life-changing for many. I am grateful to have known him and for his insight and wisdom.

David was one of the most soft spoken, respectful, nicest and caring men I knew, when I worked with him in the social work department at WU. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

David was my favorite instructor at Washburn University. He had an amazing way of teaching that helped you learn the subject to where you felt confident in the subject. Later he worked with my almost adult child in some difficult transitions in life. He just had such a wonderful way with expression and gentleness in approach where everyone strove to be the example he set. He will be greatly missed by myself and my family. I am a better person for this world because of the time I've had with David.

My heart and prayers go out to his family in the loss of this extraordinary man.

David and I were adjunct instructors at KU at the same time... and he was respected and cared for by all of his students. ButI came to know him far more through Pat ... and her love for him made me have even more respect for his caring, authenticity, commitment to students and clients, and tenacity in facing health challenges. Such a good, decent man.

I was sorry to hear this news. I worked with David on practicum placement. He was always a strong advocate for students, encouraging them to find the right 'fit' for their practicum. Rest in peace! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends and students impacted by this loss.

A true example of humanity is what I think of when I remember David. He was my instructor at KU while in graduate school for social work in 2014-2016. I learned so much from him. One of the most memoriable keys of David was how understanding he was for each of his students. He was very honest and open as an instructor and I hope that one day I too can be half the social worker he was. Descanse en paz❤ Y gracias por su Apollo en mi camino de trabajo social!!

I knew David as an instructor while in graduate school. He gave us information we needed, but more importantly, he elaborated upright, ethical conduct to us in ways that helped us - who were relatively inexperienced in a field with many possible ethical questions - helped us to grow in understanding. I was fortunate to have one-to-one conversations with him while a grad student and hold my memories of him dear. He was a good man with a good spirit; a giving and generous human being. God bless.

My heart was sadden when I heard of the passing of my dear friend. Even though we had not spoken for some time, I will always remember the times we shared as co-therapist in our professional life. I learned so much from David and was blessed to experience and observe his compassion for the many individuals he helped.

In addition to the connection of our professional lives, our connection was also furthered by the fact of our two youngest daughters were childhood classmates and friends.

My heart goes out to his daughters Jody and Courtney and his grandchildren and other family and friends. May your fond memories of him bring you peace.

May God Bless You.

Sincerely,
Donna Doolin
