Loved seeing Dan on the show.
He was still sharp as he was in his 90's.
Dan now knows where the Treasures are.
The biggest being "heaven".
Mere gold and silver cannot compare to it.
Rest peacefully Dan. You have acquired

I have been binging on Oak Island, the curse of, and so interested in it all as it is so historical. I just looked up to see when Mr. Dan passed away and found his obituary from 2019. Today is February 4, 2021, and I am saddened with learning of his passing. I have been intrigued with this show, I have left with the families of the show, I certainly have cried my eyes out at the loss of some of these dear people, especially drank and now Mr. Dan. I know they are resting in peace in paradise in Jesus his loving arms. My prayers are with the family and certainly with Dave Blankenship and family. Please no all are in my prayers.

Just wanted to thank Dan, & his family for helping aid in the discovery of ancient history on oak island.. it's sad to know the last patriarch of the original digs has passed before he knew the complete story of this centuries old riddle. My condolences to David, and the rest of his family.

Back in the mid 1960's I read a small article in our local newspaper (The Plain Dealer) about the treasure on Oak Island. I searched the libraries for any information I could find on Oak Island, and I searched thoroughly, reading several books about the history of oak Island, and many, many, old magazine stories as well. I was "HOOKED" on Oak Island. I was the Oak Island Expert in Cleveland, Ohio. In the summer of 1969, I convinced my wife to go on vacation and visit Nova Scotia. She knew this met Oak Island, and agreed. The first night in NS, we stayed in a B&B in Bedford, NS. The next morning, it was straight to Oak Island. We drove across the causeway and saw no one. Then I saw a man in the distance, looking our way. As I drove closer I recognized him as Dan Blankenship, from pictures I had seen of him. So I yelled out of my car window, "HEY!!!, Dan" . His response was "HEY!!!, how you people doin' today". That's all it took. After proper introductions, and a little small talk, he began showing us around the island and what he was doing. We talked about what others, had done in the past. I kept asking him a bazillion questions about how he was gonna do, this and that. He never tired of my questions. However, some of my questions couldn't be answered until he encountered the problems we were discussing. After several hours, with Dan, I felt as if I had known him for years. GREAT GUY !!!!!!!!. Latter on his wife, Jane, came by and my wife, Nancy, and Jane , hit it off very well. They both loved to talk. I spent the rest of the afternoon with Dan. He had several workers doing things and he kept checking on them. Dan told me that he was totally amazed with the knowledge I had of the island. He said he had never encountered a tourist coming across the causeway with the knowledge I had since he owned his part of the island. He said I knew as much, and probably more, than most of the locals who have followed Oak Island, all of their lives. Latter on we met his son, Dave, he was a young lad. He seemed kind of shy, but very respectful. Dan said he wasn't used to strangers coming by the house. Jane invited us to stay for dinner That was an invitation that my wife and I gladly accepted. It was a great dinner and even better conversation. Dan wanted me to invest in the island. I can't remember what it was called back then, maybe the something like the Atlantic Treaty organization. Anyway it would cost five grand to join and be be part of the action. If I was single I would have jumped on that opportunity without even giving it a second thought. I was married and we had a beautiful baby girl that came first. The Blankenship's were FINE people. That was a whole day, and an evening, that I will never forget. I'm 72 years old now. To this day I feel that I have known this wonderful man my entire life....PS: I just wanna say a few extra words about my stay in Nova Scotia. I have spent time in many places in the US and in Ontario. I have never, and I mean never, been treated more graciously, than I have by the residents of the great province of Nova Scotia. I also wanna salute Canada's RCMP, in my opinion, the most professional, and helpful, police organization in the entire world. Several times I saw an RCMP car parked and I asked for directions, or for lodging information. Each time the constable was extremely helpful, and went out of his way to help us. THANK YOU NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA.......If Trump doesn't in November.....LOOK OUT WESTERN SHORE, NS, I'M MOVIN' IN......and I'm serious, I mean it.

I just watched the last episode of S6 and prayed to see him in S7 after the last 30sec or so seeing him go to his golf cart from the war room. Seeing the title of S7E1 I grabbed a tissue and just knew I'd be crying. This hit me hard, I know I'm late but still....

I always thought Dan was so clever and was able to help the Laginas make real headway. I like how he could smell the old burried wood and know what it was and where it most likely came from. I think Dan is in heaven dancing around exuberantly because ALL has been revealed! God bless him!

Im such a fan of the show all these years and rooting and praying for them. This is belated I know but Im sorry to see the old timer Dan pass. It was nice every time there was a breakthrough for Rick and Marty and the team to seek out his sage advice and respected opinion which he dished out with wisdom and sometimes dry humor which was certainly endearing. He and Mr Nolan will be sorely missed. As well as Craigs dear son. They are in a better place! GO TEAM GO.

Mr. Dave Blankenship,
I want to offer my belated yet sincere condolances to you in the loss of your father. I always enjoyed the segments where your dad was on the show. He seemed to be a kind man in his old age, and sharp as can be.
As a tradesman myself, I enjoyed the authenticity of the show, and have often felt kindred with all of you in your quest, and I have always been impressed that you always mention your mother, and "finishing" the quest for her, she lives on as well because of you.
I will continue to see the adventure through your eyes, as the television world does. God bless you and your family as you continue to go forward.
