Cora Fellenstein Obituary

Born on June 2, 1930, in Edwardsville (Madison County), Illinois, daughter of the late Russell K and Elberta Mable Rheude Mullikin. She passed away at the age of 94 on July 11, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home were she had been a resident for a couple of months. Coke graduated from Edwardsville Senior High, Class of 1948. She lived with husband Charles Fellenstein in Edwardsville, East St Louis IL, Morganfield KY (Camp Breckenridge), Columbus GA (Fort Benning), Kansas City MO, Kansas City KS, Frayser (Memphis) TN, Wewoka OK, Kirksville MO, Lake Charles LA, Lawrence KS and finally Olathe KS. A resident of Olathe KS since July 1976, she was also a winter resident of Trophy Gardens RV Park in Alamo Texas since January 1995. She was a member of the Olathe First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) & McAllen TX First Christian Church, Olathe Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, William Hilton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists, Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Friends of the Mahaffie Farmstead, Olathe KS, Who's Who of American Women and Women in Finance, former director of Credit Professionals of Greater Kansas City, former director of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Kansas City, former member of IACCI, former member of Seroptomist International. Served as a volunteer at Olathe Medical Center Gift Shop for many years, a tutor in the HOSTS (Help One Student to Succeed) program in Texas, took part in the Amigos de Los Niños group of Winter Texans who provided a Christmas Day party for Mexican children in Nuevo Progreso, and Caring For Others, a non-profit organization, at Trophy Gardens that provided food, clothing, etc. to local area needy families. Cora retired in February 1994 from the Credit Union of Johnson County, where she began her career as a part time teller in 1976, advancing through the ranks to Executive Vice-President. Married to high school sweetheart Charles Frederick Fellenstein on February 24, 1951 in Edwardsville, Illinois, and celebrated Seventy-Three years of marriage in 2024. Children (all surviving) : Keith David Fellenstein (Elaine) of Lawrence KS, Kimberly Diane Fellenstein Heyse (Michael) of Olathe KS and their children Christopher Heyse, Jennifer Heyse Edington (Chris), Brandon Heyse (Makenzie) and Nathan Heyse. She was preceeded in death by her parents, a sister Mary Elizabeth, a brother Jay Russell. Surviving are husband Charles, brother Carl Austin Mullikin (Judy) of Gatlinburg Tennessee; grandchildren Heyse, Christopher, Jennifer Edington (Christopher Edington), Brandon (Makenzie), Nathan; great grandchildren Xaria, Levi, Brielle and Brinley Edington, Noah Heyse

Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church Olathe Kansas, The family requests no flowers.
