Claudine "Toodie" Southard

Southard, Claudine (Toodie) Yungmeyer, 90, passed away March 29. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edna Yungmeyer and her beloved husband of 56 years, Warren R. Southard. Toodie was a live long resident of Wichita, born April 8, 1924. She graduated from East High School in 1942 and Wichita State University in 1946. While at WSU she was a member of Pi Kappa Psi sorority and Mortar Board, and met her future husband, Warren. They were married June 11, 1950. She is survived by their three children, Jeff (Peggy), Jan(Bert) Anderson, and Steve (Diana), in addition to 12 grandchildren , 8 great-grandchildren and her brother, Jack (Sally) Yungmeyer. Toodie was outgoing, loved people and enjoyed volunteering at Exploration Place, The Wichita Children's Home, USD 259 and The Lord's Diner. She was a 50 year member of Chapter DX, PEO, and past President of the Wichita Bar Auxiliary. Her family was the delight of her life and she took every opportunity to be with them. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her yard and garden. One of the many trips aboard she and Warren enjoyed was a springtime trip to Amsterdam during tulip season. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Botanica; The Children's Garden, or Music Theater Wichita. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00, Saturday, April 4, at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel, Mission Chapel Mausoleum, 3424 E. 21st St, Wichita, Kansas.
