Cheryl Harmon Obituary
Cheryl was born March 11, 1955, in Dayton, OH. She was a long time resident of Independence before moving to Lawrence in 2001. She was employed by Kemira in Lawrence, KS for 11 years.
Cheryl's loving nature, sense of humor and faith touched everyone she met and are a legacy and inspiration to those she leaves behind. Cheryl considered herself a caregiver and a fighter for justice for all. She genuinely loved to help people and loved being there for her family and friends. She called her grandchildren her "hobby."
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Gregory; brother, Mikie Brooks; sisters, Joy Cayton, Tamara Bennett and Kelly Ward.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Addington, Lawrence, KS; son, Steven Dorrell, Independence; brother, Kevin (Crissy) Gregory, St. Simon Island, GA; granddaughters, Kiki Addington and Riley Nikodym, Lawrence, KS and Britani, Kirstyn and Trinity Dorrell, Independence; great-grandson, Damien Hernandez, Independence; and many extended family and friends.
Join us in a Celebration of Life Service Sunday, October 14, 4pm at Chapel Oaks-Lawrence Funeral Chapel, 3821 W. 6th St., Lawrence, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Cheryl may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and left in care of the funeral home. Grandma Cheryl, you changed my life in so many ways and I know you know that im going to make you proud. You always picked me up when I was down and you never failed to be there. You looked at me as your own grandson and you know your my ogma. I'm with th girls everday by their side and just like I promised you that day "I'll always keep you safe" and the last words I heard from youe were "I love you" with a big kiss followed, most probably wouldnt of understood you but me and kiki knew exactly wht you said. Infinity and beyond my love.

Cheryl, you had the biggest heart and the most desire to help everyone than anyone I know. You always remembered to say thank you and good job, when the rest of us take others for granted. I know that I am a better person for having known you. I love you and will always miss you. We will take care of Tina and her girls.
