Brett Wells Obituary
Brett was born September 7, 1960, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Robert J. and Mary Ann (Pohl) Wells.
Brett is survived by his father, Robert J. (Patty) Wells, mother, Mary Ann Corbin, sisters, Crystal (Michael) Harris, Diane (James) Becker, niece, Hannah (Zac) Towns, nephew, Nickolas Becker, great-niece, River Towns, stepbrothers, Greg Brown, Scott (Adrienne) Brown, step-nephew, Adam Harris, and step-nieces, Heather Pierce, Amber Brown and Abby Brown. Also, Brett's loving caregivers Karim Abdel Banad and Magda Abduljabber and their family.
Brett was preceded in death by his grandmother, Opal M. Pohl, grandparents, Alfred (Vivian) Wells, and stepfather, Dick Corbin.
Brett has lived and been part of Good Life Innovations, formerly Community Living Opportunities (CLO), since 1989. Brett will be remembered for his unwavering kindness that touched everyone he met, the importance of music, specific TV stations, and the heartfelt love he had for his family. His family will miss his weekly phone calls to them where he would always want to sing together. Up until the end of his life, he fought hard with grace and dignity and anyone that was lucky enough to know Brett was a better person because of him.
The family suggests memorials in Brett's name to Good Life Innovations or Midland Care Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.

I'm so sorry to hear of Brett's passing. Thinking of you and your family at this heartbreaking time. I will never forget how amazing Brett's savant talents were. I remember he could distinguish EVERY SINGLE CAR SOUND, when we would come over he would be saying "Artie! Artie! Artie!" And how he knew numbers and dates was beyond fascinating and brilliant! He was 1 in 10 million! RIP Brett.
