Billy Woodruff Obituary
Services for Billy Glenn Woodruff, Jr., 44, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Woodruff died Friday, July 10, 2015 at McAlester Regional Hospital, in McAlester, OK.
He was born November 13, 1970, in Lawrence, the son of Billy Glenn Woodruff, Sr. and Georgia McGuire. He attended Lawrence Schools, and has lived in the area most of his life.
Mr. Woodruff worked as a facilities maintenance group leader for Berry Plastics in Lawrence and most recently in Oklahoma. He was a mechanic, certified electrician, good cook, and a great father. He and his father owned Woodruff Tree Service in Lawrence for 15 years. He later worked for Charlie Newnez Tree Service. Billy liked hanging out with family and friends and he loved them very much. He also enjoyed visiting with his father, partying, watching movies, barbequing and smoking meat.
He married Jennifer Anne Henderson, November 2, 2012 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include sons, Bryon Brouhard, Baylen Woodruff, Gary Woodruff, and Billy Woodruff, III, all of Lawrence; father, Billy Woodruff, Sr. of Bennington, OK; mother, Georgia McGuire of Levelland, TX; sisters, Crystal Woodruff and Nancy Sack both of Texas, Candy Freeman of Lawrence, Rhonda Sprow of Waverly, and Michele Edwinson of Lawrence; brother, Shawn Edwinson of Lawrence; and grandmother, Lorene Minyard of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Travis Minyard, Harold Fahrlender, and Viola Fahrlender.
Friends may greet the family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Billy Woodruff Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.

Mr Billy was always a young man with a sparkle in his eyes. Some times it made me laugh and other times require discussion about a different direction for the sparkle!!!!
He was good about changing direction and I remember Woodruff tree service helping me with a tree that had to go.
All of my Woodlawn students I hold dear and they were all angels at all times compared to students of today.
God bless all of you and I married a North Lawrence Marine. I kept ties to the area.

When I think of Billy, I remember him as a student. The greatest memory of Billy was when we had a storm - I don't remember the year and I needed help with a tree. My elderly neighbor did too. No problem for Billy and his Dad.May God give you the strength and courage to continue to enjoy life the way Billy did .I apologize for not being healthy enough to come yesterday. I wanted to meet those of you I've talked to on Facebook. Know my continued prayers are with you!
