Bill Parker Obituary

Bill J. Parker, 71, of Ozawkie, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Pioneer Ridge care facility in Lawrence. He was born September 9, 1942 at Topeka, the son of Donald Wade and Alice E. Hemme Parker. He was a 1960 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and he attended Technical School in Kansas City. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970. He worked as a Printer for Hallmark Card Company in Lawrence, retiring in 1996 after 35 years. He was a member of The Oskaloosa First Presbyterian Church and the Ozawkie Cemetery Board. He loved his cats, fishing and hunting trips, snow and water skiing and participating in BBQ contests. Bill and his wife, Chris enjoyed many trips with family and friends to their vacation home in Breckenridge, CO. He was married to Christine A. "Chris" Wagner on February 19, 1966 at Atchison, she survives at home in Ozawkie, also surviving is one brother, Gary Parker and wife, Janice, Moran, an aunt, Mary Leach, Perry, 12 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 13, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa. Inurnment will be at later date at the Ozawkie Cemetery.
