Beverley Carole Black

August 10, 1946 - October 6, 2025

Beverley Carole Black, 79, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, with her husband, James Hopper by her side. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert; and her parents, William and Charlotte Black. She is survived by her son, David; and grandchildren, Zachary McCants, Gabriel McCants, Hailey Moseley and Madison Moseley. Beverley spent most of her career in the legal profession first as a Legal Assistant and later as an Advocate for a number of State Agencies including the State Attorney General's office. She was known as smart and diligent in her work and as a trusted partner to many. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and especially loved cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2nd Baptist Church, 9614 River Road, Henrico, VA 23229 in the Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff at Lakewood Manor Retirement Community for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
