Barbara Eichhorn Obituary

Barbara "BJ" Everley Eichhorn, ASID, 87, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully. Born and raised in Eudora, Kansas and resided in Shawnee Mission, Kansas after graduating from the University of Kansas, BJ cultivated a life rich in creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and enduring relationships.

A proud alumna, BJ was a devoted member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Her passion for aesthetics led her to a highly successful career as an interior designer, where her innate talent transformed countless spaces. She held the distinguished ASID professional designer designation, a testament to her expertise and dedication within the design community. Beyond her design work, BJ was also a savvy business entrepreneur, navigating the professional world with grace and determination.

BJ was a complicated mother to her three children, Joseph Grant Eichhorn, Kala Eichhorn, and Cynthia Eichhorn, who preceded her in death, and three awesome grandkids, R. Quillen Eichhorn, Aidan Chase and Avery Chase. She also left behind her brother Robert Steve Everly.

Throughout her life, she shared companionship with several husbands, though she often spoke of Garry Miller as her perpetual favorite.

BJ will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her keen eye for design, her unwavering independence, and her enduring loyalty to her sorority and profession. Her legacy lives on through her surviving children, Grant and Kala, and the many lives she touched with her unique spirit.
