Barbara Dawn (Schmidt) Dunivan, age 84, of rural Linwood, Kansas passed away on Friday, December 22nd, 2023. Barbara was born July 27, 1939, in Kansas City, KS, and was raised by her mother Iona Schmidt, and grandmother Orpha Smith. She grew up at 12th and Quindaro in KC and graduated from Wyandotte High School in the Class of 1958. While attending High School Barbara worked at Fiddlers Book Sales. Through Church, she met Charles Dunivan, and the two were united in marriage on July 28, 1962, and together they made their home in Kansas City and later moved to the farm in Linwood, KS., after the passing of Charles's parents. Barbara had worked for Colgate-Palmolive and worked as a secretary at the Sealright Co. She then became a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed raising her children. Later, she also had been employed at Ranch Hands Food and Square Shooters Candy, both in Edwardsville until her retirement. Barbara liked to dance and enjoyed doing puzzle books. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and finding bargains at garage sales. Barbara was also a member of the Rebekahs of the IOOF. She loved her family, friends, and especially her grandkids, all of whom will greatly miss her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Dunivan, one brother Albert Schmidt, and one daughter-in-law Kimberly Dunivan.

Survivors include her brother's wife, Linda Schmidt, one son Michael Dunivan and wife Deborah of Linwood, KS., two daughters Lisa Foster and husband Tony of Linwood, KS., and Donna Henley and husband Billy Jr. of Tonganoxie, KS. Six grandchildren: Danielle Rocha (Shawn), Vance Allred (Heather), Quintin Foster, Ashley Thompson (Zach), Cody Henley and Wyatt Henley. Five great-grandchildren: Kaleb Gonzales, Cade Crady, Kaylene Gonzales, Kayleigh Chronister, and Nikolle Allred. As well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside Funeral Service will be 11am Friday, Dec. 29th at the Lenape Cemetery, 16524 Woods Road Linwood. Her husband's urn will be placed in her casket as they wished to remain together forever.
