Arthur Thalheim Obituary

Arthur Fredrick Thalheim, 73, passed away on September 23, 2023, at his home in Lawrence, Kansas, after a short illness. Known as Fred by family and friends, he was born on November 14, 1949, in Great Bend, Kansas.

After graduating from Fort Hays Kansas State Teachers College, he joined Graybar, a leading North American distributor of electrical, communications, data networking and industrial products as a counter sales representative and later in his career as a customer service representative.

Outside of work, Fred was active in the K.C. Jaycees including serving as President of the organization and was a life-long fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Retiring in 2015, he enjoyed playing Scrabble, and participating in Education for Ministries (EFM), a four-year distant learning certificate program in theological education.

Fred is survived by his sisters, Kerry Thalheim, Lewes, Delaware, and Cheryl Thalheim, McPherson, Kansas, and was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Fredrick and Nellie Violet (Schmidt) Thalheim. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Great Bend Old Cemetery, Great Bend.

Enjoyed Working with Fred for over 20 years at Graybar in Kansas City and on our City Counter. He was an inspiration in coming to work everyday as a teammate and friend. Prayers for the entire Thalheim family.
