What a wonderful life Allen Hoffman lived. He and his late wife Elaine always welcomed friends and family into their beautiful home in Lawrence, and made us all feel welcome. Am I the only one who thought Allen looked exactly like actor William Holden? I always wanted to tell him that, but never did. He also wrote such nice, encouraging notes to us at least once a year, and shared newspaper clippings of commentary he knew we would enjoy. We'll miss Allen (who was married to my first cousin).

My father Fred Jacobsen worked with Allen for many years. My father died in 1979, but I remember him talking about Allen often during his life and what a great respect he had for him. My condolences for your loss.

The day God took you home.
I wish I could have come up to visit for a while, just to hear your stories and see you smile. I hope you know that I thought of you often and wished I could have taken the time off work to see you. My Love Always,
