My grandfather and I were rather close. And he loved me so much as his first grandchild from my mom. I have many fond memories with him but my favorite is a day where I was staying at his house and he bought me a toy I wanted really badly. He always spoiled me even if my mom said no. He made sure I had everything I wanted. He ended the day with taking me to Burger King to try the impossible burger. It had just come out and at the time I thought I was vegetarian. He´s always had such a special place in my heart and I will continue to love him and hold onto my memories for the rest of my life.

In Loving Memory of David "Huggy Bear" Amaro

I met David Scott "Huggy Bear" Amaro back in 1984, and from the very beginning, that´s what I called him. Everyone knew him as Huggy Bear. He had that rare kind of warmth that made you feel safe, seen, and always welcomed. Sweet, funny, lovable, and full of life
he looked out for me like a brother. Those school-day memories with him are some of the happiest pieces of my youth. He brought so much laughter into my life, and I will forever hold that close.

After many years apart, we reconnected in 2018, and it felt like no time had gone by. He even chauffeured me and my best friend to New York for the day windows down, freestyle blasting, singing our hearts out like the old days. That trip meant so much to me.

Separate from that, I´ll never forget all those late-night moments: scratching lottery tickets, sipping wine, talking about everything and nothing, laughing until our sides hurt. Those were the simple, beautiful memories that stay with you forever.

I also remember the difficult health struggles he faced, and how strong and brave he was through all of it. He carried so much with quiet courage, and I tried to be there however I could. I will always admire the strength he showed during those years.

I will never, ever forget him.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to his children, his entire family, and especially his mother. He adored his mom she was truly his world and you could hear the love in his voice every time he talked about her. I pray she feels surrounded by comfort, love, and strength during this heartbreaking time.

Huggy Bear... my dear friend... thank you for every laugh, every memory, and every bit of kindness you ever showed me. My heart is broken. Rest in peace. You will always be missed, and you will always be loved.

"Some friends leave footprints on your heart that time can never erase."
Dedicated with love to David Scott "Huggy Bear" Amaro.
And may the freestyle you loved so much play on forever every beat, every lyric, every memory keeping you close.
