Thomas Kisiel Obituary

Thomas J. Kisiel, 74, of Sarver, passed away on March 30, 2026, at Forbes Regional Hospital. He was also affectionately known as "Smooth," "Fup," and "Bear" to all of his friends and family. Tom was born on Aug. 5, 1951, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights and was the son of the late Leon and Bernice Sowa Kisiel. Tom attended Freeport High School, graduated in 1969, and then attended Penn State University. He spent most of his career at Oberg Industries, where he retired in 2016. Tom enjoyed traveling in the motor home, especially to Penn State games, where his favorite pastime was cheering on his beloved Nittany Lions. When not working, Tom could often be found on his tractor on his family farm. Tom is survived by his companion of 40 years, Karen Moon of Sarver; his sister, Lucy (Edward) Mahdik of Natrona Heights; stepchildren, Cheryl Moon of Economy Borough and Terri Sue (Kevin) Kutzavitch of Moon Township; step-grandchildren, Gina Sirianni and Morgan and Kendall Kutzavitch; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Leonard, and Walter Kisiel; and sister, Sophie Haberman. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. A parting prayer service will be held at 1 p.m., with Father Dan Blout officiating.
