Mark Ryan Obituary

Mark J. Ryan, 70, of Gibsonia, loving father of Christopher James "C.J." Ryan and Casey Ryan, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was born to James A. Ryan Jr. and Dolores "Dolly" Ryan. Mark was a man deeply rooted in his Catholic faith, which guided his life and shaped his character. His dedication to the church was evident in the way he lived with kindness, humility, and compassion for others. As a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Mark found purpose in service and fellowship, always willing to lend a helping hand to his community. A graduate of Penn State, Mark cherished his lifelong bonds he formed during his college years. His fraternity brothers remained some of his closest friends, and he took great joy in staying connected with them over the years, sharing stories, laughter, and memories that never faded. Mark also had a love for the game of golf. Whether on the course with friends or enjoying a quiet round, he appreciated the camaraderie and peace the game brought him. It was one of the many ways he connected with others and embraced life's simple pleasures. Above all, Mark was a devoted father and family man. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son, who were the pride and joy of his life. His love extended deeply throughout his large family, including his mother, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, whom he cherished dearly. Mark took great pride in staying close with all his relatives, celebrating life's milestones together, and creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. May he rest in eternal peace. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Saints Martha & Mary Parish, St. Richard Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044. James

April 2, 2026

That´s a really heartfelt message already, James. I´ll keep your meaning and emotion, but smooth it into a polished memorial you can share:

He showed up-every time-to Special Olympics hockey and softball, cheering on CJ and all of us like we were his own team. As one of CJ´s teammates, I felt that support deeply. He wasn´t just in the stands-he was part of our spirit.

Whenever I got frustrated in the heat of the game, I´d look his way. Without fail, he´d meet me with a smile and a few simple words of encouragement. In those moments, he helped me reset, refocus, and find my joy again.

That´s who Mark was-someone who lifted others up, who made you feel seen, supported, and stronger than you thought you were.

I will truly miss him. But I know this much-he´s still cheering us on, still smiling, still part of our team... now from Heaven.

If you want, I can make a shorter version for a card or something longer/more emotional for a speech.
