Linda Grace (Crile) Britko, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Canonsburg Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Monroe (Roe) and Mary Margaret (McCoy) Crile. She was the last surviving member of the Crile family. She was born in Pancake on Aug. 17, 1935; she resided there nearly all of her life. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1953. Linda worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone until she married the love of her life, the late Frank E. Britko. They were married for 57 years. Later in life, she worked as a switchboard operator at the Washington hospital and at the G.C. Murphy Co. in the payroll department. She was a lifetime member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church and the Elks Lodge, where she received many trophies for her doubles. She was also a longtime member of the Steel Workers of Active Retirees (S.O.A.R.) and was the treasurer for many years. She and Frank loved to go to
Ocean City, MD, which they did for 40 years. They also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, and island cruises. Linda loved baking, especially at Christmas, which she gave to her family, friends, and neighbors. She also loved being with family at gatherings, laughing and having a good time. Surviving are two sons, Frank Douglas (Patti) Britko of
Jamestown, NY, and Eric Scott Britko of
Ventnor City, NJ. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Rachel (Crile) and Edward Britko; also her nephew, Mark Edward Britko. Her son, Doug, was greatly appreciated for the many things that he did to make her life easier. He took care of the many chores, grocery shopping trips, and everyday problems as well as her health issues whenever they arose. She had a special niece, Becky Gasper; and special friends, Frances Shrontz and Jodi Derrow, who also helped her whenever needed. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at HUMMELL AND JONES FUNERAL HOME, 420 Locust Ave., Washington, with a service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
