Nancy Patrino Obituary
Nancy Grace Patrino passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on August 13, 1930, in Lansing, Michigan, to Charles and Catherine Grace, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert and Mary Ann Grace.
In 1953, Nancy graduated from Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (now MSU) with a degree in Journalism. She moved to Chicago in 1954, where she met her future husband, Sam Patrino. They married in 1958 and had 66 wonderful years together. They raised four children, Kathy, Beth (Geoff Huntington), Trish, and Peter (Colleen). Nancy and Sam have five grandchildren, Grace and Kelly Patrino and Claire, Kelsey, and Ian Huntington.
Nancy loved reading novels and enjoyed watching all sports on TV, especially MSU football and basketball, and the Chicago Cubs. She and Sam shared a love for travel, exploring over 12 European countries and China. She and Sam spent over 34 winters in Florida, the last 24 years they lived at Kelly Green Country Club in Fort Myers. She loved playing golf and bridge, and one of her greatest joys was watching the sunsets from the Sanibel Causeway.
Memorial Visitation Friday October 18, 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Edna Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's name to Michigan State University, the Alzheimer's Association of Illinois, or Vitas Healthcare Hospice.
