Karen Urias Obituary

Karen A. (Fleming) Urias, 85, of Level Green, passed away peacefully Thursday August 29, 2024. She was born April 30, 1939 in Charleroi, a daughter of the late William and Eva (DeSellem) Fleming and was also preceded in death by her husband Lauren I. Urias; sister Ruby Maier and brother Ben Fleming; and sister in-law Jean Fleming; son in-law Jeffrey Vandall. She worked for many years as an executive secretary for Westinghouse Electric, working in their Education, Nuclear, and Transportation Divisions. Karen loved spending time at Rivers Edge Campground, Connellsville, had a passion for crafting, and in her younger years showing horses. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Karen is survived by her children Cathie (Mark) Raisbeck Pearson of Pittsburgh, Lauren 'Duane' (Lou Anne) Urias of Irwin, Cheryl (David) Maisel of North Carolina, and Kimberly Vandall of Mars; grandchildren Ray Cook, Timothy (Gabri) Vandall, Jenna Maisel, and Daniel Maisel; great grandchildren Holley (Patrick) Boggs, Jack Vandall, and Annie Vandall; brother William Fleming of Baltimore, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 7241-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
