Shawn Hall

June 9, 1966 – February 7, 2025

Shawn Thomas Hall, 58, of Grass Valley, passed away February 7, 2025, after a sudden illness. But nobody lived MORE in 58 years than Shawn.

An avid San Francisco 49ers fan, his blood ran true Red and Gold. It also ran Orange and Black (for the San Francisco Giants), and eventually Crimson and Cream after meeting his wife, Jennifer, a born and bred Oklahoma Sooner.

You could say it was love at first sight for these two, but really it was laugh at first laugh, and the fun never stopped for 25 love-family-friend-travel-action-packed years. Their greatest joy and gift was the addition of their daughter, Louisa Claire (age 21), the completion of the family's three-piece puzzle.

Shawn was born and raised in San Mateo, California and graduated from Chico State University. He harnessed his entrepreneurial spirit and built his own successful print brokering business, Strategic Packaging Solutions. Shawn's clients and vendors weren't merely business associates, but also friends and family. After all, who didn't love "Mr. Packaging"?

His many physical hobbies and accomplishments, almost too many to list, included: SCUBA diving, skiing, backcountry skiing, telemark skiing, snowboarding, waterskiing, barefoot waterskiing (jumping off a bridge to start, if you wanted a show), slalom skiing, wakesurfing, wakeboarding, mountain biking, and stand-up paddleboard surfing, all topped off with his avalanche certification. If he wasn't serving his clients, working in or enjoying his yard, traveling, or spending time with family, then you could find him in the backcountry with his friends, his brothers, on some outdoor adventure.

Shawn Hall. A man who stood naturally and comfortably in his own power. A man who always made you feel seen, heard and special - everyone's biggest cheerleader. A man who was always the life of the party. A man of many unique dance moves. A man who always made a new person feel welcome. A man who adored his girls. A man who has left a hole in too many hearts to count.

A Shawn-sized Celebration will be held the weekend of June 7, 2025. Details to be announced.
