Ron Lowe Obituary

Ron Lee Lowe

May 1, 1943 – November 23, 2024

Ron Lee Lowe passed peacefully in Nevada County, California, at the age of 81. A beloved member of his community, Ron's warmth and spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Son of Elizabeth Crogan and Kelsey Lowe, Ron is survived by his sister, Margie Bland; his daughters: Patricia Beron, Cindy Gallegos, Nicole Curtiss, Heidi Lowe-Durbin, Arielle Lowe, and Aurora Lowe-Chubb, nine grandchildren and the mothers of his daughters, including his lifelong friend, Valerie Lowe who was at his side when he passed.

In the 1970s, Ron enjoyed a successful career in fashion, owning several clothing stores in Los Angeles.

A prolific writer for over 40 years, Ron authored a book on the soul and contributed countless articles and letters to the editor that appeared in national publications. His work centered on spirituality and sociopolitical issues; advocating for progressive policy, women's rights, and equality for all.

Ron was a deeply curious and spiritual man, a critical thinker with a love for the mysteries of existence. He was a true rebel - a sacred clown who embraced the paradoxes of existence with grace and awe.

When asked about death, Ron said, "I don't really give it any thought. It's just something that will happen. I've been mostly interested in living life!"

Prior to his passing, Ron requested baptism. This request was honored, though his beliefs transcended religion, harboring love & respect for all philosophy and faiths.

Ron will be remembered as a kind soul, a beloved troublemaker, and a wise elder of his community. Though his presence will be deeply missed, let us not mourn his passing, for he is a child of the Universe and his soul is now flying free.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at The Communal Café in Nevada City on December 1, 2024, from 12 - 3p.m. All are welcome.

Thank you so much community for all of your kind words. I have such an eternal love for my father. I have been speaking with his spirit & he his happy & free. You all brought so much joy & light to his life. I have endless gratitude for your gifts of affection to him & every kind hello & interaction. He LOVED this town & loved seeing all of your beautiful faces.
Ronald comes from old Norse Rögnvaldr, meaning ruler's advisor" or "mighty counselor also the etymology: Anglicized from Scottish Gaelic Raghnall, itself derived from Old Norse Rgnvaldr, from rgn ("advice") + valdr ("power").
A fitting name for my father.
I will be making a crowdfunding link to edit & publish his book on the soul that includes tons of his papers passed out over the years. I'll follow up with the union & on social media as I figure out the best way to set it up. I love you all & so does Ron. Much love, Arielle AKA ERIEL INDIGO

my extraordinary ex Ron Lowe was quite the extraordinary man
he turned me onto Sound Healing by giving me many books on the subject. He is what inspired me to go to the south of France and go to tama-do the Academy of sound color and movement. I am forever grateful for his presence

Is this "Jonsy"? Looks a lot like him, not to mention the obituary describes him as I remember Jonsy.

Ron was one of those characters that God gave us to teach love, tolerance, and visions to enable our minds to grow, learn patience, tolerance and a deeper understanding of why we are here on the Earth.

Dearest family of Ron. What a man, a brother, a person. I saw him pretty much every day I lived in Nevada City. I kept many of his thought provoking papers he would hand out or deliver to different places. I always felt blessed to receive one. What a character! So wise and free. Thank you Ron for being such a fine example to us all. I am so happy knowing you lived your life so fully and are now set free in the wonder of it all. May the void Ron left in our lives be filled with the knowing of a life so well lived! Blessings
