Robert Lane

September 4, 1946 – October 6, 2024

Robert Earl Lane was born on September 4, 1946 in Kentfield, CA to Juanita and Richard Lane and was raised in Marin County. He graduated from Terra Linda High School in 1964 and attended the College of Marin.

He is survived by his sister, Yvonne; his daughters, Michelle, Andrea, Nicole; son, Dillon; son-in-law, David; grandsons, Dustin, Marcos; granddaughters, Issabella, Alyssa, Natalie, Madelina; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn; and his eight cousins.

Robert went to work in San Francisco as an electrical estimator. He bid the project for BART, the Bay Area rapid transit, as well as other projects in the Bay Area. He temporarily moved to Alaska around 1975 in order to work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline system which is one of the largest pipeline systems in the world. After moving to Sacramento, he continued working as an electrical estimator. In 2010, he moved to his parent's family home in Grass Valley.

Bob, as he was known by family and friends grew up enjoying hunting with his father and relatives, fishing, skin diving, camping, surfing, and snow skiing. In the years following, his interests were sailing, sail boat racing, boating, water skiing, times spent with family, world travel, photography, golfing, and riding his motorcycles. In the more quiet times, he was an avid reader and always worked on a Sudoku puzzle every morning.

We shall remember his keen sense of humor, and even in the face of health battles, his strength and determined spirit carried him through. In the end, he passed away peacefully. His family will continue to hold him close to our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
